JO McBRIDE, M.A. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (she/her)
Jo McBride works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families that are dealing with issues like depression, anxiety, anger, work problems, life transitions, and problems in relationships.
She fundamentally uses strength building and mental health education to support positive changes. From the beginning, she builds a sincere trust with her clients and provides a customized plan to restore the health and wellness of that person and their relationships. In couples therapy, she focuses on understanding the dynamics between the couple, and then she helps them make changes to enhance their relationship. Using cognitive-behavioral therapy, Jo helps clients build a deeper understanding of themselves and become empowered in their relationships.
Jo also has extensive experience facilitating adult and adolescent groups in a partial hospitalization program, where she provided group therapy and mental health education. Using evidence-based techniques, Jo guides clients through mindful self-awareness, acceptance, and emotional management. She also has experience treating children for mental health and behavior concerns. Jo believes collaboration with the child’s parent or guardian, school, and other services is key to their success.
Jo McBride is a Clinical Affiliate with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists. She has also served as a site supervisor for post-graduates seeking a therapy licensure.
